3,500 Local Hospital Workers Vote to Strike

About 3,500 members of the Service Employees International Union Healthcare Minnesota voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to strike.  After two days of voting, 91 percent supported the strike option.

If the union calls a 2-5 day strike it would affect:

-Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina
-Fairview Riverside Hospital in Minneapolis

Man Seeks to Vacate Wrongful Death Ruling

A man acquitted of killing his girlfriend is asking a Ramsey County judge to vacate a $6 million civil judgment against him for her wrongful death.
    
Aaron Foster was found not guilty in 2008 of fatally shooting Barbara Winn in Maplewood more than 30 years ago. Winn's family filed a civil lawsuit against Foster last year.

Friends of Ramsey County Libraries Hosts BookIt 5K

The Friends of Ramsey County Libraries organization is hosting a BookIt 5K Walk/Run to benefit the 2012 Summer Reading Program.

The reading program is offered at the libraries in Roseville, Maplewood, Shoreview, Mounds View, New Brighton, North St. Paul, and White Bear Lake and will directly benefit from the fundraiser.
